ZZモデル　1/72 アメリカ陸軍レーダー　SCR-268　１　

ZZモデルのSCR-268　アメリカ陸軍レーダーの組み立てと塗装を行いました。第１回目です。基部というかトレーラー部分を組み立てます。

We assembled and painted the ZZ model SCR-268 US Army radar. This is the first time. Assemble the base or trailer part.

塗装は比較的簡単

キット紹介でも触れたようにタイヤとホイールは別パーツになっていますし、基本的に単色塗装なので、トレーラーの塗装まで比較的順調に進みました。

As mentioned in the kit introduction, the tires and wheels are separate parts, and since they are basically painted in a single color, the trailer painting went relatively smoothly.

アウトリガーの長さ調整で難航

かなり難航したのがアウトリガーの調整です。通常４つの接地面があると思っていたら、このSCR-268はどうも８つあるようです。内側の４つもアウトリガーと呼ぶのかどうかも良く分かりません。

It was the adjustment of the outriggers that was quite difficult. If you think that there are usually 4 ground planes, this SCR-268 seems to have 8 of them. I’m not sure if the inner four are also called outriggers.

タイヤを少し浮かせた状態で８本を接地させるのはかなり難しいです。それもロッド部分はプラ棒を切って取り付けるタイプなので、インジェクションキットのように長さがある程度決まっているわけでもありません。更に４本のアウトリガーもレジンの別パーツなので、取り付け角度の精度もなにもあったものではないです。

まずは内部四本を固定してから外部４本を固定しました。

It is quite difficult to ground eight tires with the tires slightly floating. Since the rod part is also a type that cuts and attaches a plastic rod, the length is not fixed to some extent like the injection kit. Furthermore, since the four outriggers are also separate parts of the resin, there is no accuracy in the mounting angle.

First, I fixed the four inside and then the four outside.

正直かなりきつい作業でした。
