オストリッチホビー　1/700　イギリス戦艦「ヴァンガード」7　HMS Vanguard

前回までで主要部の組み立てを完了しているので、機銃の組み立てを行います、３Dプリンタパーツの功罪に関して記します。

機銃は３Dプリンタ出力パーツ

機銃の銃身は３Dプリンタで出力したパーツそのままになっています。

The barrel of the machine gun is output by a 3D printer.

デザインナイフの刃先と比べてみてください。かなり小さいですね！この手の小さなパーツはPSやABSのインジェクションパーツを別にすればエッチングパーツあるいはレジンパーツ（ポリウレタン製）が標準だったように思います。３Dプリンタで出力されたパーツそのままというのは最近出てきたものです。

Compare it with the cutting edge of a design knife. It’s pretty small! I think that the standard parts for this kind of small parts were etched parts or resin parts (made of polyurethane), except for the injection parts of PS and ABS. The parts that are output by the 3D printer are the ones that have recently come out.

長所もあるが短所もある

レジンパーツに比べれば変形も少なく使いやすいです。レジンパーツで細い機銃が成形されていたNIKOモデルのデ・ロイテルは機銃パーツが変形していてて七転八倒しましたからね。ただ、変形にしにくい端緒と引き換えに大変脆い印象です。ゲートの処理がかなり難しいので、銃身を持って銃架のゲートを処理を使用とすると銃身が折れます。ファインモールドのナノドレッドの機銃がABS製というのはよく考えられた仕様だと再確認しました。

Compared to resin parts, 3D printer parts are less deformed and easier to use. The NIKO model De Ruytel, which had a thin machine gun molded from resin parts, suffered from the deformed machine gun parts. However, it gives a very fragile impression in exchange for the beginning that is difficult to deform. The gate is quite difficult to handle, so if you hold the barrel and use the processing gate on the mount, the barrel will break. I reconfirmed that it was a well-thought-out specification that the Fine Molds Nanodread machine gun was made of ABS.

レジンキットならエッチング併用がベストかも

でも、ファインモールドのナノドレッドはインジェクションですから、個人メーカーレベルではとても開発できないと思います。例えばこのヴァンガードの40㎜ボフォースは「６」連装なんですが、ヴァンガード以外で６連装なんて見たことありませんから、そのためだけにインジェクションというのは難しいでしょう。

私見では、1/700のレジンキットならレジン又は３Dプリンタパーツの銃架+銃身と防弾板はエッチングが作りやすさと再現度のバランスが良いと思います。

However, since Fine Molds Nanodread is an injection, I don’t think it can be developed at the individual manufacturer level. For example, this Vanguard’s 40mm Bofors has 6 units, but I have never seen 6 units other than Vanguard, so it would be difficult to inject just for that.

In my opinion, if it is a 1/700 resin kit, the gun mount + barrel and bulletproof plate of the resin or 3D printer parts have a good balance between ease of etching and reproducibility.
