実機解説
機体前方固定機銃を装備せず、後部に旋回式動力機銃を装備している個性的な戦闘機です。実戦ではあまり活躍できなかった戦闘機ですが、戦闘機とは思えない姿が大変魅力的です。
なお、日本海軍の「月光」も開発当初は後部に動力機銃を装備する予定でした。しかし、動力機銃の開発が当時の日本では難しかったため搭載が断念されました
It is a unique fighter that is not equipped with a fixed machine gun at the front of the aircraft, but is equipped with a swivel power machine gun at the rear. It is a fighter that could not play an active part in the actual battle, but the appearance that does not seem to be a fighter is very attractive.
At the beginning of development, the Japanese Navy’s “Gekko” was also planned to be equipped with a power machine gun at the rear. However, it was abandoned because it was difficult to develop a power machine gun in Japan at that time.
