実機解説
F-111は世界初の実用可変翼機で、本来米空軍と米海軍の機体の共通化を狙った機体でした。空軍がF-105サンダーチーフの後継となる戦闘爆撃機、海軍が長距離空対空ミサイルを搭載する艦隊防空用戦闘機を要求しました。空軍型がF-111A、海軍型がF-111Bとして開発されましたが、結局海軍型はキャンセルとなりました（結局海軍は後にF-14を採用）。
F-111Aは空対空戦闘能力はほぼ持っていないのですが、地形追従レーダーとその搭載能力で高い評価を得ました。
The F-111 was the world’s first practical variable wing aircraft, and was originally intended to be a common aircraft for the US Air Force and the US Navy. The Air Force wanted a fighter-bomber to replace the F-105 Thunderchief, and the Navy wanted a fleet air defense fighter capable of carrying long-range air-to-air missiles. The Air Force version was developed as the F-111A and the Navy version as the F-111B, but the Navy version was eventually canceled (the Navy later adopted the F-14).
The F-111A has almost no air-to-air combat capabilities, but it has earned a high reputation for its terrain-following radar and its on-board capabilities.
製作・塗装
機種のピトー管を真鍮パイプ+真鍮線に交換した以外はストレート組です。
グレー Mrカラー305
シャドウとハイライトを入れた後にジャーマングレー+ブラックでウォッシング、デカールを貼って、つや消しクリアーです。
F-111の主翼のハードポイントは内側から二番目をメインに運用されたので、内側から二番目だけにドロップタンクを装備しました。
It is a straight set except that the pitot tube of the model was replaced with a brass pipe + brass wire.
Gray Mr color 305
After adding shadows and highlights, wash with German gray and black, decals are applied, and it is matte clear.
Since the F-111’s main wing hardpoints were mainly operated from the second innermost point, only the second from the innermost point was equipped with a drop tank.
