実機解説
1957年にソ連が打ち上げた世界初の人工衛星です。スプートニクショックと言われるアメリカの反応が起こり、後の宇宙開発競争を引き起こしました。
The world’s first artificial satellite, launched by the Soviet Union in 1957. The US reaction, known as the Sputnik Shock, triggered the Space Race.
キット紹介
ロシアのレッドアイアンモデルのキットです。
This is a Russian Red Iron model kit.
主要パーツはこれだけでシンプルです。
The main parts are simple.
上級者向けと断りがあるエッチングパーツです。硬めのエッチングなので、特殊な工具でも持っていないと組み立てが難しいパーツがあります。画像左上アンテナ基部パーツはピンセットタイプのベンダーでは曲げ加工は難しいです。
Photo-etched parts for advanced users. Because it is a hard etching, there are parts that are difficult to assemble without special tools. It is difficult to bend the antenna base part on the upper left of the image with a tweezers type bender.
真鍮製のアンテナは二種類あります。スプートニク1号のアンテナは4本ありますが、長さの違いがあるなんて知らなかった！
There are two types of brass antennas. Sputnik 1 has four antennas, but I didn’t know they had different lengths!
組立
エッチングの一部はこうやって接着してから不要部分を切り取ります。説明書ではナイフで切り取る事になっていますが、難しすぎますね。
Part of the etching is glued like this and then cut off the unnecessary part. The manual says to cut it with a knife, but it’s too difficult.
接着後にピンセットでに曲げる→戻すを何回もあれば簡単に折ることができます。
After gluing, you can easily fold it by bending it with tweezers and then undoing it several times.
塗装

台座のアームは間違えて前後逆に取り付けましたが、バランス的に特に問題ないようです。

The pedestal arm was installed backwards and forwards by mistake, but it seems that there is no particular problem in terms of balance.
