Fujimi 1/700 Japanese Navy light cruiser “Agano” plastic model finished product. Details have been improved using genuine Fujimi etched parts, fine mold nano dreads, and general-purpose etched parts for the rainbow model. It was remodeled to the state of the first half of 1943.
It is a light cruiser that was planned in 1939 for the flagship of the Destroyer Squadron and completed in 1942 due to the deterioration of the 5500-ton class light cruiser. A 15 cm cannon twin gun x 3, a quadruple 61 cm torpedo launcher x 2, a twin 8 cm anti-aircraft gun x 2, two aircraft, an engine output of 100,000 horsepower, 35 knots and a heat haze type, Yugumo It was a perfect performance for the flagship of the torpedo squadron that led the mold.
However, as Chief of Staff Matome Ugaki said, whether it was suitable as a Pacific War-type cruiser is another matter.
Agano will be the flagship of the 10th Squadron of the 3rd Fleet, which will advance to the trucks to the south after commissioning as a new light cruiser. The 10th Squadron is the MTF’s direct defense Destroyer Squadron.
It is said that the construction of the electric probe and the machine gun was completed in January 1943.
I used Fujimi’s Agano. I made it as a full hull version using the bottom of the Yahagi full hull version of the same type of ship.
It was made after the addition of radar and machine gun, which is said to be January 1943, using the rear bridge parts for Noshiro.
Details have been improved based on Fujimi’s Agano-type exclusive etching parts. As I mentioned in the kit review, I used the rainbow model aircraft catapult set because it does not include the etching of the set No. 2 and 11 type. Although I didn’t mention it in the kit review, the Agano-type air carrier is shorter and has a different shape than the trolleys mounted on other cruisers and battleships. The short carrier was also used on seaplane tenders such as Chitose, but the Agano type seems to have a different shape. There is only one photo of Agano equipped with an electric probe, but a short transport trolley is shown, so please pay attention to those who have a photo.
