実機解説
Ｆ３Ｈデーモンはマクドネル社が開発した、米海軍の全天候亜音速艦上戦闘機です。マクドネル社の次のファントム２の基礎ともなった機体で、各部にファントム２への影響を感じます。初期の機体で事故が多発したため悪評高い機体となりました。
The F3H Demon is a US Navy all-weather subsonic carrier-capable fighter developed by McDonnell. It is the aircraft that became the basis of McDonald’s next Phantom 2, and I feel the influence on Phantom 2 in each part. It became a notorious aircraft due to frequent accidents in the early aircraft.
キット紹介
ホビーボスのキットです。モールドやパーツの合いは結構良かったんですが、接着面のとり方などの作り易さは標準的です。
Hobby Boss kit. The fit of the mold and parts was pretty good, but the ease of making such as consideration of the adhesive surface is standard.
製作塗装
「説明書には何にも書いていないけど多分しりもちをつくだろう」と思って機首にオモリを仕込んでおいた（あまり重くなると前脚の強度が不安になる）のですが、ちょっと足りなかったようです。撮影時は前脚タイヤ下に両面テープを貼ってます（これ位で止まるバランスですが）。
全面モールドを掘りなおししました。最近のサーフェイサー全盛のご時世だと、最近の深めのエアフィックスのモールドの方が理に適っているのかも・・・とは思いました。
塗装はガルグレーとホワイトです。
I thought, “I didn’t write anything in the manual, but the tail will touch the ground,” so I put a weight on the nose (if it gets too heavy, the strength of the front legs will be uncertain), but it’s a little enough. It seems there wasn’t. At the time of shooting, I put double-sided tape under the front tires (although it is a balance that stops at this level).
I dug up the entire mold. In the heyday of surfacers these days, I wondered if the recent deeper airfix molds would make more sense.
The paint is gull gray and white.
