実機解説
MkⅧの生産は間に合わないため、MkⅤに必要最小限の改造を施し、マーリン60系列を搭載し、MkⅨとして生産に入りました。このMkⅨは応急改造機ながらFW190A-3を圧倒する性能を示し、主力機となりました。
Since the production of Mk VIII was not in time, the Mk Ⅴ was modified to the minimum necessary, equipped with the Merlin 60 series, and started production as Mk IX. Although this MkIX is an emergency modified machine, it showed overwhelming performance over the FW190A-3 and became the main machine.
キット紹介
タミヤのキットです。アウトライン、ディテール、ギミックどれをとっても現状で最高峰の飛行機モデルであると断言できると思います。
東京ホビーショーでタミヤの担当者の方が「公式図面を使ったので似ていて当たり前」と豪語しただけの事はあり、究極に似ています。担当者の方に一例を挙げてもらったのですが、「胴体の断面形状」などが最たるものです。スピットファイアの胴体は単純な楕円ではなく、ひし形に近い断面だそうです・・・・・確かに写真見るとそうなってます。
ディテールも究極のものです。リベットの表現などは同社の零戦よりも控えめになっていますが、私はこの方が好みです。またマーリンエンジンのディテールもきわめて優れたものエンジンカウルは厚さ0.4mmで成形。
スピットファイアの薄い主翼もあってか、無理な可動ギミックは放棄しているようで、主脚などは差し替え式、フラップは上下選択式、キャノピーも開閉選択式で、個人的には大変理に適った設計だと思いました。

At the Tokyo Hobby Show, the person in charge of Tamiya just boasted that “it’s similar because I used the official drawing, so it’s natural”, and it’s the ultimate. The person in charge gave an example, but the “cross-sectional shape of the fuselage” is the best. It seems that the body of the Spitfire is not a simple ellipse, but a cross section close to a rhombus.
The details are also the ultimate. The expression of rivets is more modest than the company’s Zero Fighter, but I prefer this. The details of the Marlin engine are also extremely excellent. The engine cowl is molded with a thickness of 0.4 mm.
It seems that the unreasonable movable gimmick is abandoned due to the thin main wing of the Spitfire, the main landing gear etc. are replaceable, the flap is up and down selection type, the canopy is also open and close selection type, it is a very reasonable design.
制作・塗装
サーフェイサー+ブラックを下地に行いました。
RAFのファイターコマンドの標準迷彩のミディアムシーグレー・オーシャングレー・ダークグリーンの３色の塗装です。
基本塗装後にシャドウとハイライトを入れてからブラック+ジャーマングレーでウォッシング、デカールを貼ってからつや消しクリアーです。
ラウンデルのデカールはエクストラデカールです。
The surfacer + black was used as the base.
RAF Fighter Command standard camouflage medium sea gray, ocean gray, and dark green.
After basic painting, add shadows and highlights, wash with black + German gray, apply decals, and then matte clear.
Roundel decals are extra decals
