「雷」というと以前「アンビリバボー」でも取り上げられたとおり、日本艦隊と交戦して沈没し漂流中のエクセター、エンカウンターの乗員を救助しています。

As mentioned earlier in “Ikazuchi”, “thunder” is rescued from the crew of the Exeter and Encounter who are sinking and drifting by engaging with the Japanese fleet.

キット解説

アオシマのエクセターに付属していたヤマシタホビーの「雷」のキットです。「響」で問題とされた煙突断面形状は「電」以降追加パーツが入って修正されています。

It is a kit of Yamashita Hobby’s “Ikazuchi” that came with Aoshima’s Exeter. The chimney cross-sectional shape that was a problem with “Hibiki” has been corrected with additional parts after “Inazuma”.

製作

　Ⅲ型にするために少しだけ手を入れました。
１　予備魚雷格納筐を左右非対称位置へ
２　後部構造物一部構造変更
それ以外に主砲砲塔の補強板は１番砲は延長して、２番・３番砲は削り落としました。前述の救助時の工藤艦長の写真を見る限り艦橋前辺りは鉄甲板のようなので軍艦色を塗ってみました。

エッチングパーツはテトラモデルワークスの「響」用のものです。前述の通り煙突の断面形状が違うものあってジャッキステー類は使用していません。後部煙突のファンネルキャップは一部加工して使用しています。

塗装はタミヤのリノリウム色とタミヤの横須賀海軍工廠色です。空中線はナイロン線です。

I made a few changes to make it type III.
1 Move the spare torpedo storage case to a left-right asymmetric position
2 Partial structural change of the rear structure
Besides that, the reinforcement plate of the main turret was extended for the 1st gun and scraped off for the 2nd and 3rd guns. As far as I can see the above picture of Captain Kudo at the time of rescue, the area in front of the bridge looks like an iron deck, so I painted it with a warship color.

The etched parts are for “Hibiki” of Tetra Model Works. As mentioned above, some chimneys have different cross-sectional shapes, so jack stays are not used. The funnel cap on the rear chimney is partially processed and used.

The paint is Tamiya’s linoleum color and Tamiya’s Yokosuka Naval Arsenal color. The antenna is a nylon wire.
