甲板と船体上部の下工作を進めます。

舷窓を開口
開口されていない舷窓をφ0.8㎜とφ0.5㎜のドリルで開口します
Open unopened portholes with φ0.8mm and φ0.5mm drills.
甲板工作
レインボーモデルのエッチングパーツを組み込みますので、エッチングパーツの説明書に従い一部のプラパーツをカットし、一部を埋めます。
Since the photo-etched parts of the rainbow model will be incorporated, cut some plastic parts according to the photo-etched parts instructions and fill in some.
前後甲板ともに階段のモールドを削り取ります
Scrape off the mold of the stairs on both the front and rear decks
削り取る場所がかなり奥まった部分なので、一般的なニッパーやナイフだけではちょっと難しい工作です。ノミなどを使うとかデザインナイフのかんな掛けを併用するのが良いでしょう。
Since the part to be scraped is quite deep, it is a bit difficult to work with just a regular nipper or knife. It is better to use a chisel or a planer with a design knife.
更に一部の不要突起を削り取ります。
Also remove some unnecessary protrusions.
一部を埋める
説明書に指示はありませんが、元々の階段部分に穴が開きますので、プラ材を充填しておきます。
更に甲板の凹みはベンチを取り付ける場所です。エッチングの説明書にはさらっと「埋める」と書いていますが、削るのはともかく埋めるのは難易度が高めです。今回は0.3㎜のプラ板を現物合わせでカットして取り付けました。
Although there is no instruction in the manual, there will be a hole in the original staircase, so fill it with plastic material.
Furthermore, the dent in the deck is a place to attach a bench. The etching instructions simply say “fill in”, but it’s more difficult to fill in than scraping. This time, I cut and installed a 0.3 mm plastic plate by matching the actual product.
甲板の凹みを埋めた状態です。次に甲板の研磨がありますのでこの段階で十分乾燥させます。
