実機解説

零式艦上戦闘機二一型（A6M2b）は、第二次世界大戦中に大日本帝国海軍が使用した艦上戦闘機「零戦」の一つの型式です。この機体は、特に真珠湾攻撃をはじめとする太平洋戦争の初期に活躍しました。

特徴:

航続距離: 増槽タンクを装備した場合、約3,300kmという長大な航続距離を誇りました。
武装: 翼内に20mm機銃2門、機首部分に7.7mm機銃2門を装備しており、当時としては重武装でした。
運動性能: 格闘戦を重視した設計で、優れた運動性能を持っていました。
軽量化: 軽量化を徹底することで、1000馬力級の「栄」エンジンの性能を最大限に引き出しました。

この二一型は、空母運用を前提に設計されており、翼端を折りたたむ機能や着艦フックが追加されていました。また、真珠湾攻撃を含む緒戦での活躍により、アメリカ軍に大きな衝撃を与えました。
