もがみ型護衛艦は、従来の護衛艦とは一線を画したコンパクトかつ多機能な艦艇で、艦種記号も、フリゲートを表す「FF」に多目的と機雷の頭文字の「M」を合わせた「FFM」という新しいものが採用されました.

  もがみ型護衛艦は、船体や艦橋の傾斜した平面で構成され、ステルス性を高めています。航空甲板下には機雷除去用の装備を搭載し、護衛艦として初めて対機雷戦能力を獲得しています. この新世代護衛艦は、対潜・防空能力を持ち、揚陸部隊や補給部隊などの護衛を担当する多機能護衛艦として、海上自衛隊に配備されています。

The Mogami-class destroyer is a compact and multifunctional vessel that is different from conventional destroyers. The new ship type symbol, “FFM,” is a combination of “FF” for frigate and “M” for multipurpose and mine.

The Mogami-class destroyer is constructed with inclined planes on the hull and bridge to enhance stealth. Mine-clearing equipment is installed below the flight deck, making it the first destroyer to acquire mine-countermeasure capabilities. This new generation destroyer has anti-submarine and air defense capabilities and is deployed in the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force as a multi-function destroyer responsible for escorting landing forces and supply units.

製作・塗装

　以前、ピットロードのキットを制作しました。今回はタミヤのキットを使用しました。ホイップアンテナはファインモールドの金属パーツに交換しました。
