シュナイダー・トロフィーとは

シュナイダートロフィーレースは1913年から1931年まで開催された水上機のエアレースで、シュナイダートロフィーがこのレースの優勝者に授与されました。

20世紀の初めには高速を追求するなら陸上機より水上機が有利と考えられており、水上機限定のレースながら、事実上世界最速の飛行機を決めるレースでした。

The Schneider Trophy Race was a seaplane air race held from 1913 to 1931 and the Schneider Trophy was awarded to the winner of the race.

At the beginning of the 20th century, it was believed that seaplanes were more advantageous than landplanes in pursuit of high speed, and although the race was limited to seaplanes, it was a race to determine the fastest plane in the world.

アニメ「紅の豚」に登場

シュナイダートロフィーレースで優勝した機体で有名なのはスーパーマリンのSシリーズなどですが、日本ではイタリアのサボイアS.21とカーチスR3Cが有名です。

「紅の豚」にこの2機の「名前」が登場します。

「名前」と断ったのは、劇中のサボイアS.21は実際の機体とはかなり異なっており、実際のモデルはマッキM.33だからです。

The famous aircraft that won the Schneider Trophy race is the Supermarine S series, but in Japan, the Italian Savoia S.21 and the Curtiss R3C are famous.

These two “names” will appear in “Porco Rosso”.

The reason why I said “name” is that the Savoia S.21 in the play is quite different from the actual aircraft, and the actual model is the Macchi M.33.

ファインモールドのR3C-0の説明書がR3Cシリーズの理解に役立ちます。説明書の中ではR3C-0に魁皇されたのはゼッケン３の機体であろうと推定されています。このアトリエノアのR3C-2はゼッケン３の機体です。

Finemold’s R3C-0 manual will help you understand the R3C series. In the manual, it is presumed that the one that was crowned by R3C-0 is the aircraft numbered 3. This Atelier NOIX’s R3C-2 is the number 3 aircraft.

ファインモールドのR3C-0

R3C-2とは胴体側面がかなり異なりますしフロートのアウトラインもかなり異なります。

The side of the fuselage is quite different from the R3C-2, and the outline of the float is also quite different.

主翼もR3C-2とは異なっていますね

The main wing is also different from R3C-2.

細部パーツはR3C-2に移植できればラッキーという程度で考えます
