チャンネルダッシュのソードフィッシュ　Swordfish during channel dash

エアフィックスの1/72　ソードフィッシュは2011年に発売されたキットです。そのバリエーションキットになります。恐らく1942年2月のチャンネルダッシュから70周年を記念したキットです。

チャンネルダッシュ時のソードフィッシュは悲劇的な出撃で、実に有名です。悲劇的な出撃としては日本海軍の大和も有名ですが、イギリス海軍の中では最も悲劇的な出撃の一つです。

チャンネルダッシュはドイツ海軍の大型艦三隻がドーバー海峡を日中突破しました。そのチャンネルダッシュを阻止するためにわずか6機のソードフィッシュが攻撃を行いました。ソードフィッシュ隊の攻撃は無謀だと言われながらも攻撃命令が出れば出撃しなければなりません。護衛のスピットファイア隊もごく一部しか合流できず、ソードフィッシュ隊はドイツ軍戦闘機とドイツ艦の対空砲火で全滅しました。

Airfix 1/72 Swordfish is a kit released in 2011. It will be the variation kit. Probably a kit commemorating the 70th anniversary of Channel Dash in February 1942.

Swordfish during Channel Dash is a tragic sortie and is truly famous. Yamato of the Japanese Navy is also famous as a tragic sortie, but it is one of the most tragic sorties of the Royal Navy.

In Channel Dash, three large German Navy ships broke through the Strait of Dover during the day. Only six swordfish attacked to thwart the channel dash. Although it was said that the Swordfish corps attack was reckless, they had to sortie if an attack order was issued. Only a small part of the Spitfire corps of escorts could join, and the Swordfish corps was wiped out by German fighters and anti-aircraft fire of German ships.

全面黒のソードフィッシュ

このキットの箱絵に描かれているソードフィッシュは全面黒の機体となっています。確かにエズモンド隊が夜間攻撃隊として待機という記述は見たことがあります。エアフィックスの説明書でも攻撃時は全面黒だったというこです。

The swordfish depicted in the box picture of this kit is a completely black aircraft. Certainly, I have seen the description that the Ezmond corps is waiting as a night attack corps, and even in the Airfix manual, it is said that it was completely black at the time of the attack.

キット内容

ソードフィッシュと言えばタミヤの1/48という名作がありますが、タミヤのキットとはかなり違う方向性となっています。

Swordfish has a masterpiece called 1/48 of Tamiya, but it is in a direction quite different from Tamiya’s kit.

機体表面はかなり良い感じですね。

The surface of the aircraft looks pretty good.

主翼の表現も素晴らしいです。

The expression of the main wing is also wonderful.

魚雷も付属しています。

おや？と思ったのがこのパーツです。ソードフィッシュにはこんな部分はないはずです。

このパーツは組立の治具になっています。実に親切な設計です。
