実艦解説
「定遠」は清国海軍の戦艦です。同型艦「鎮遠」とともにドイツに発注されました。常備排水量が7000トンを越え（当時の日本海軍の最大の艦は初代「扶桑」で3000トン）、射界を広く取った30センチ砲は当時の東洋では突出した性能を持ちました。名前が「定遠」「鎮遠」であり、「外国を鎮圧する」という意味を持ちました。この外国は当然日本の事です。
「定遠」は日清戦争前の1891年に日本に来航し、その姿に日本はショックを受けました、その当時まだまだ貧しかった日本は「定遠」に対抗できる艦を建造も発注もできなかったため、この「定遠」と交戦して勝利するためだけに極めて特殊な決戦兵器が設計建造されました。それが「松島」「橋立」「厳島」の三隻の海防艦、通称「三景艦」です。

キット同梱のエッチングパーツを適宜使用し、空中線を展開しています。アンカーチェーンはフラグシップのものです。
