Langley is the first US Navy aircraft carrier. She equipped the collier Juputer with a full flight deck and was commissioned in 1920 as an aircraft carrier. The coal hangar of the era of the coal carrier was diverted to the hangar of an airplane, and it is a method of moving from the hangar to the elevator with a crane under the flight deck. This mechanism remains as it was during the seaplane tender era.
She was converted into a seaplane tender in 1937 because she was dilapidated. This is the aircraft carrier Wasp, which was later built by Langley’s substitute ship.
She was moored at the Cavite military port in the Philippines at the beginning of the Pacific War, but she escaped under the attack of the Japanese Navy Air Service and then conducted an air transport operation. On February 27, 1942, Langley, who was transporting the P-40, was bombed by the Japanese Navy Air Service and sank.
Trumpeter kit. There are some drawbacks, but it is a really valuable kit.
I used the etching parts for the 1/350 seaplane tender Langley of the trumpeter. The ship-mounted boat at the front of the hull was not installed because it was impossible to install it as it was due to the structure of the kit.
